| L6 Downloader is a software that allows you to work around some ISP limitations. These limitations are of two kinds: - the first is to block some ports, well L6 Downloader won't help you here - the second is to limit the maximum size of a downloadable file, this is where L6 downloader can help you L6 Downloader allows you to download a file of any size. The only limitation is that it has to be in http mode, since ftp mode is usually blocked (port 21). |
| How to |
| The only thing you have to do is to find a source of what you want to download in http mode. For example, do not download from ftp://www.blah.com/somepath/file.zip but from http://www.blah.com/pathto/file.rar. The download sites often offer a variety of mirrors to download from, just choose one in http mode. If you're not sure if the file is hosted behind a ftp server or a http one, juste right click on the link to download the file and choose "Copy link location". Paste it into the notepad to check if it begins by "http" or "ftp". If it begins with "http", there you go! If not, try next one, won't be long before you find one suitable. |
